You can write machine code directly, use an assembler, or use a high-level language to generate the instructions. How you generate those op-codes is up to you. If your card does not show that is probably not a POST code. At a basic level the EPROM is going to contain binary op-codes and data for the specific processor you are using. Does your POST card have the ability to show previously received codes (like the 'Example of a modern POST card' at ). Sometimes (it depends on the problem), a POST card might show something other than a POST code.
